Carol has been with Skin Jazz since the very start. Looking back at our books, Carol not only worked at Skin Jazz in 2015, but she was Skin Jazz’s very FIRST paying client. In 2018, Carol made the decision to take over Skin Jazz, from there she has used her hard-work, sweat and tears to grow our studio to where it is today. 

Carol is the glue that keeps everything together at Skin Jazz. No one has a bigger love for tattooing or more dedication to our studio than Carol. She is the first point of contact for all our clients, from talking every client through the fear and excitement of a new tattoo or piercing, to making sure each artist is equipped to deliver their very best work.

Her professionalism and knowledge regarding tattoos makes her the go to person for anyone with uncertainty in their tattoo choices. Her friendly, calming nature helps every person who sets foot into the studio feel more comfortable and confident about the whole process. Her love for the studio is what turns Skin Jazz into a home for staff and clients.

Every person who knows Skin Jazz, knows that with Carol at the helm, we will only continue to grow and evolve, bringing South Africa into the future of tattooing.

“Show me a man with a tattoo and I will show you a man with an interesting past”. Douglas always had an intense love for art and a fascination with tattoo culture.

He decided to start his apprenticeship with Skin Jazz in 2016 and became a senior tattoo artist in 2018.

Douglas found a deeper love in his art, exploring the diversity within the artform. He finds excitement in getting to explore different styles and techniques.

Douglas’s art has only continued to flourish in recent years, and he has been an integral part of our growth as a studio.

His passion for client care and satisfaction has been a strong suit in continuing to obtain new and happy clientele. He has true care for each tattoo he does and puts his heart into each piece. Douglas truly puts care into his clients and learns their stories this way ensuring that each tattoo carries across the heartfelt love he has for his work and clients. An artist with a heart as big as the ocean.

From a very young age JD knew he had a passion for all things art. He eventually started tattooing at the age of 20  His constant need for self expression led him to the doors of Skin Jazz at the young age of only 24.

Being mostly self-taught at that stage JD longed to be a part of something bigger.  After joining the team JD soon realized that he had a love for the adrenaline rush that came with learning new styles and techniques.

With a particular talent for cover ups, JD enjoys giving old tattoos a new life. With an ever growing talent he has been able to soar to new heights with the Skin Jazz Team.

JD has been with Skin Jazz for 8 years now and we have been blessed to see him grow into an extraordinary artist.

Liza started at Skin Jazz in 2019 as an apprentice piercer at the age of 18. Since then she has had the opportunity to become a very successful piercer, lash tech and permanent make up artist.

With a passion for not only personal growth but also the growth of the studio she has come to call home she hopes to offer and specialize in the colour correction of older permanent make up.

Her constant friendly and optimistic attitude has helped her give her clients a warm and welcoming experience every time they step foot in the door. She has an eagerness to explore new possibilities and perfect her art form. Doing lashes quickly became her passion and she has been able to discover new talents.
